Much of the woodland north of Bagshot is either designated 'open
access' or has permissive access for exercise on foot.
Further north across the county boundary into Berkshire and
cycling is permitted subject to a licence bought from The Outlook.
Bagshot Heath south of the motorway (now called Lightwater
Country Park) also provides open access and can be reached from
Whitmoor Road by a footbridge across the motorway.
There are currently two walk descriptions provided on my website.
Rapley Lake. A pleasant, though sometimes muddy,
short walk of about 4.5 km (3 mile) through Crown Estate woodland to a
picturesque lake. "I enjoyed this work thoroughly.. both my wife and I had a wonderful time
and had a picnic on 29 September. The weather was beautifully warm." Ernest
