The
High Street divides into two very different parts.
West of 'The Square' is the main thoroughfare with shops along most of its length.

East of "The Square" the High Street is narrow and lined with
old buildings. It is no longer used as a thoroughfare, but prior to the building
of the bypass in the1920's the main London to West Country road passed through
here!.
The white car, just in front of the red brick office block is on the bridge seen in another of our tour photos.
The red brink building was the location of the White Hart inn.
